It’s minute 3 into the bumper-to-bumper traffic of your commute and you’re mind is already wandering over the list of other things you could be doing right now. In fact, the longer your stare through the windshield, the more you begin to long for an autopilot feature so that you can get started on your list. As it turns out, a recent study, done by the Boston Consulting Group, on the future market autonomous vehicles shows that you’re not alone.
In the study, it was found that, “drivers in the United States are enthusiastic about the potential of autonomous vehicles.” In fact, one of the top 3 reasons given for why a potential buyer would want a fully autonomous car is that it, “allows multitasking and productivity while (the) vehicle drives.” Further more they found that, “Most interested consumers are also willing to pay extra for autonomous features.” Unfortunately, the introduction of mass market autonomy is still in the indefinite future. Luckily, there is an alternative available here in the present.
